Our commitment and the standards we follow
HITBOOK INC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities, and continually works to improve the accessibility and usability of this website for everyone.
Where Israeli law applies to us — the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013 — we aim to conform to Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA.
What has been made accessible
The following accessibility measures are in place across the site:
- A built-in accessibility widget (the accessibility icon shown on every page) offering text-size adjustment, high-contrast mode, link highlighting, a readable font, grayscale mode, pause-animations, and an enlarged cursor — with preferences remembered across visits.
- Semantic HTML structure with a proper heading hierarchy, and ARIA labels/roles for screen-reader compatibility.
- Full keyboard navigation support and visible focus states on interactive elements.
- Alt text on informational images.
- Color contrast ratios that meet the WCAG 2.0 AA thresholds on primary text and controls.
- Full right-to-left (RTL) layout support for Hebrew and Arabic, mirrored rather than merely reversed.
- A responsive layout that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels.
Known limitations
While we work continuously toward comprehensive accessibility, some content is not yet fully accessible:
- Some third-party embedded content (social media embeds, video players, external widgets) may not fully meet accessibility standards, as it is not under our control.
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible.
- User-generated content (for example, in community posts or client messages) may not always meet accessibility standards.
